Subject: Obama's "Not Exactlys"

http://www.rense.com/general80/bho.gif

OBAMA'S "NOT EXACTLYS"

1.) Selma Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google 'Obama Selma' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles about its various untruths.)

2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.

3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.

4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya. It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Obama, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that....and for more.
Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.

5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.

6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.
Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya, his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro). From....and for more....go to.....

7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
4-3-08 Article "Obama was 'quite religious in islam'" http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559<http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559>;

8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).
February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset." This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says "Obama's narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts."

9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.

10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia, I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn't even speak the language. What did you learn, ....... how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.

11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.

12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine.

13.) An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.

14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life - NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.

15.) I Won't Run On A National Ticket In '08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.

16.) Voting "Present" is Common In Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.

17.) Oops, I Misvoted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.

18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.

19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.

20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn't write it, introduce it, change it, or create it.

21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.

22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.

23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.

24.) I Took On The Asbestos Altgeld Gardens Mess - NOT EXACTLY, you were part of a large group of people who remedied AltgeldGardens. You failed to mention anyone else but yourself, in your books.

25.) My Economics Bill Will Help America - NOT EXACTLY, your 111 economic policies were just combined into a proposal which lost 99-0, and even YOU voted against your own bill.

26.) I Have Been A Bold Leader In Illinois - NOT EXACTLY, even your own supporters claim to have not seen BOLD action on your part.

27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.

28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA - NOT EXACTLY, the Canadian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them.

29.) I Am Tough On Terrorism - NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction off Israel.

30.) I Want All Votes To Count - NOT EXACTLY, you said let the delegates decide.

31.) I Want Americans To Decide - NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate during small windows of time.

32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate - NOT EXACTLY, you passed 26, most of which you didn't write yourself.

33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics - NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.

34.) I Don't Take PAC Money - NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.

35.) I don't Have Lobbysists - NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists, and counting.

36.) My Campaign Had Nothing To Do With The 1984 Ad - NOT EXACTLY, your own campaign worker made the ad on his Apple in one afternoon.

37.) I Have Always Been Against Iraq - NOT EXACTLY, you weren't in office to vote against it AND you have voted to fund it every single time.

38.) I Have Always Supported Universal Health Care - NOT EXACTLY, your plan leaves us all to pay for the 15,000,000 who don't have to b uy it.

Just today Fox News stated that Barack Obama had made the statement, in a speech, that his uncle had help liberate the Jews from Auschwitz Concentration Camp at the end of WWII. NOT EXACTLY: Obama does not have an uncle, as his mother, who is white, had no brothers. His father's people are not Americans. And Auschwitz Concentration Camp was liberated by the Russians, not the Americans, as Auschwitz is in Poland and American troops were never there. (This hasn't been carried in the general media which is overlooking Obama's "misstatements.")

The /5 and the dragonfly...

Planning the stuff I want to do on my BMW has made me recall the process of building the /5 which I traveled so far on. Fond memories

When I found that bike it had been sitting next to two equally neglected Hondas, a Yamaha, and a bike I couldn't identify, It had lived for several years in a basement of the home of a not very mechanically inclined bike rider in Quincy. Seems that if the bike he was riding broke or stopped runing, he would simply replace it rather than fix it, so after a while his basement filled with machines in need of repair. It got to the point that his wife wanted them gone, so he was selling them all off. I was looking for a winter project and found the 1972 /5 in his pile of cast-off bikes. It went home with me and the rest of those bikes may still be there as they were then for all I know..

With some help loading the bike into my 1972 ElCamino, I transported the dirty, sad looking /5 to the house by the beach, moved it into the living room next to the pool table and there it was transformed over a winter. Once started, some people wondered if the project would ever be done. All the painted parts were removed, cleaned and re-painted. A new fairing was added, and the electrical system was rewired. New Lester wheels and new tires were added. The tired engine was cleaned up and was gone through. A new ignition system was installed with a second spark plug installed in each cylinder. An oil temperature gage was installed with a new oil sump pan to increase the capacity of the engine oil, front forks were rebuilt and stiffer springs added to improve the suspension. Rear shocks and springs replaced. Almost every bolt and nut was replaced with aircraft grade fasteners. Some parts which were originally plastic were replaced with new items machined from aluminum. By late spring it was ready to go..

I think the /5 and I got along well.. In the time I owned it, I took care of it and it treated me well.. never failed me, and was a joy to ride..

I had forgotten (almost) that one night after its rebuild and the first long shake-down ride, an artist friend who used to come to the house to play pool, and who knew the story of the bike, and who had watched the build over some months, painted a small blue tailed dragonfly on the BMW's rear fender. The dragonfly story which follows was told to me that night. (I also hung a small silver bell from the bike frame, but that is another story for another time). It was small dragonfly and not very easy to see, but it was very nicely done. People would sometimes spot it and ask why it was there. I usually just told them that I liked dragon flies, and let it go at that.. almost never told them the story I will relate here now..

The dragon flies life cycle is symbolic for transformation (like that bikes rebirth) and its being okay with it.

Here is the story:

Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads, far away from the sun, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions.

Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their friend was dead, gone forever.

Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top. When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap.

As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying. So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never known existed.

Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended. But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!

I hope those sad bikes left behind in that basement in Quincy eventually were repaired and found new life..

While the same story really doesn't apply to the RT, I just may incorporate a small blue tailed dragonfly into the paint of this bike too... just for good luck.

Trunk

Progress on the backrest / trunk today...

This part has been ordered, less the luggage top rack as I have other plans as to what I want to do there..

This trunk is large enough to lock away two full face helmets. Nice for those times when you don't wish to lug it around with you.

The Photo on the right shows the backrest...
well... actually part of it as there is a second cushioned part which continues the padding right down to the seat.

Should be a comfortable perch to view the passing scenery.

Still looking for the proper base to mount this to the bike with. I may end up fabricating the part myself...

Ordered this in white in hope it will make painting it easy...

Lighting will be added to this as well.. probably LED type.. An interior light, additional brake lighting, and running light as well.. A simple common trailer connector should cover the wiring needs and allow for quick disconnecting to remove the trunk when it isn't needed.

The tail and brake lights will be necessary as the original lamp probably will not be visible when a car is close behind such as when in heavy city traffic.

Figuring out the paint scheme so the bike looks correct with or without this trunk is a whole other issue. Maybe when it is mounted and I can step back and look at it all together a plan will become obvious.

I think there will be quite a gap between the tail light and the bottom of the trunk, which will need to be mounted rather high for the back rest to be proper. I'm thinking a round soft pack to contain ether a therma-rest or a three person tent may live there nicely. With that bulk packed there, there will be no shortage of storage space to carry everything else. I will keep my eyes open for a nylon bag of the proper size and color, once I determine exactly what size that might be. Once that is figured out, a strip of reflective tape material will be sewn lengthwise to it. That will enhance visibility from behind at night and play down the hight of the whole machine when viewed from the rear.

Some bikes (like Honda Goldwings) look large enough to remind you of an aircraft carrier when you look at them.. I don't like that look.. so where I can I will do what I can to play down the hight and make the bike appear longer. To that end, the paint layout of the fairing is requiring some thought.. need to play down the hight and accent the width.

I'm sure there is a formula worked out by artists to achieve the proper balance of all this visual deception, but unfortunately I never studied art.. I just know what I like when I see it.

Any suggestions are welcome....

More Stuff to Find...

Spent some time the other day with the bike.

I removed the ugly, silly "sissy bar" (I think I heard the bike sigh in relief) and now the hunt is on for an original passenger grab bar. It's too bad that whoever mounted the sissy bar didn't keep it.. I think this may be a tough part to find..

The bike looks a lot better without the sissy bar, but Janel wants a backrest.. I understand, and have the solution in my head.

With the correct luggage rack there is a small luggage carrier which is perfect for carrying a tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping pad. On my last BMW, when I was not camping out, I used it to handcuff my helmet to the bike when I wanted to leave it behind. That type of rack is plentiful and easy to find, but this is an RT. The problem is that the RT seat cowl lays over when the seat is opened to access the locking under-seat storage where the tool kit, tire pump, and other stuff is kept. The small luggage carrier needs to be a little further aft to provide clearance for that to happen. Once the correct rack is found and on the bike I will mount a rear trunk with a backrest on the forward side to please Janel, but if I am riding solo it will be left behind. That is the plan.. now to pull together the parts...

In the photo is one type of rack used to address what I am talking about.. This system has it's own disadvantage.. You need to unload it to open the seat... If I can find one of these I will use it, However, there is a better solution..

Here it is... It's not as pretty as the above type, but it is much more practical.. Dealer price for this part is way too high.. now to try to find a used one... Sometimes I think BMW stands for "Beyond My Wages".

The blue R80 on the right below has yet another rear rack option.. Not sure how this would work as far as opening the seat...

Kind of strange to use the word "pretty" in a sentence about a German motorcycle... I used to be amused when people would comment about my done-up old /5.. They would always comment about a part of the whole... "nice wheels", "nice paint", or something else.. BMWs are odd to the eye.. Look at one long enough though, you begin to see the beauty of a simple, easy to care for design.

To ride one (BMW) is to love it for what it does for you.. Ride it is what I intend to do.. Harley riders seem to tend to use their bike as an example of their polishing skills.. too many Asian sport bike riders use their machines to demonstrate "bravery".. you see them riding too fast in shorts and sandals wearing T-shirts as upper body protection.. to each his own..

Found an outstanding post from a guy who did a long tour on a Honda Goldwing.. Best I have read in a long time.. the link follows, but be forewarned.. It's long...you probably are not going to read it in one sitting.. You will find excellent photos, video, and he is a great writer.. This is worth your effort though.. trust me, your gonna like that read....

Clean-up started..

In spite of the heat, managed to do a little clean-up today.... Still have a lot left to do!

Research has confirmed that this bike has a recall on the front wheel. BMW will replace it at no cost. I expected this was the case.

The wheel sizes are 18" rear, and 19" front. Later model R80 bikes use a 18" on the front. Checking to see if that is possible to do on my bike because it would allow the need to carry only one spare tube. Experience has taught me saving space and weight on a bike tour is always a good thing.

The R100RT came home today...

Over a year ago I bought a 4X8 utility trailer on e-Bay with the intent of using it as the base for a teardrop trailer. As many of you know, we sort of fell into a deal on a small Sunline travel trailer and there was no need to advance any further on the teardrop project. The utility trailer sat idle, and I toyed with the idea of listing it for sale. I am happy that I never did that as it is now to be used as a motorcycle trailer. We used it today to haul home the BMW today. It was the first time I have towed it with any weight on it, and am impressed with how well it worked. No swaying or excessive bouncing around, and the axle placement is such that the thing backs up better than any trailer I have ever used. This trailer has larger wheels than on my other utility trailer, and that I am sure has much to do with its performance. I guess it will be a “keeper” so this winter when I am in painting mode it will get a through cleaning and a repaint.

My thanks to Chip and Mike (two friends at the gun club) for their assistance in setting the trailer up to haul my bike.. Their help is really appreciated as there are some things that are frustratingly difficult for me to do yet being still weak in the arms and leg. Thanks a ton guys.. I owe you..

I was amused somewhat at Janel's disappearance when I got on the bike to drive it up the hill in the driveway to get it where the trailer was parked. She said she didn't want to watch... It went well though right up to the point where the former owner had a different idea about how to load the thing onto the trailer. It was a hot day and rather than just doing it the way I have always loaded bikes in the past, I conceded to try his method, which involved disconnecting the trailer from the Explorer. End result is a huge scrape on the tailgate of the Explorer which I feel so badly about. My fault for not sticking with the tried and true. In the end we ended up doing it the way I originally planed..

So with the bike home now, I can start the process of cleaning and evaluation of what this thing is going to need. Plus.. I can finally just sit some and look at it.. Helps planning when I can see it in 3D. Pics are helpful, but no substitute for actual close proximity.

Was thrilled to find that the clock on the bike was still right on time. Clocks on these bikes often required sometimes daily adjustment to stay correct. This one shows no gain or loss after 3 weeks.

As you might imagine there will soon be many more bike photos posted.. maybe even some tomorrow.

I think Janel may be getting excited at the prospect of doing some riding as well.

She was looking at riding jackets and such on line.

We got some new GMax GM68 helmets delivered via UPS the other day.. They look pretty damn good.. well thought out. Better then I have had in the past as far as face shield distortion and ventilation, and they were a lot cheaper to boot. There is a link in the right sidebar if you want more info. I don't think she is too thrilled about the dreaded “helmet hair” problem that all women hate though. Never heard any guys complain about that, but suppose it is because “metro-man”types have yet to discover motorcycles.

Tired tonight.. not used to all of that effort in a day... Is a pleasant tired though. Didn't over-do anything.. Just enough to let me know I accomplished something today. Actually, right where I want to be. Tired but not excessively sore. Doing this each day can only make me stronger. Tomorrow will be a hard morning I expect, but after a few hours the stiff and sore will go away.

Oh yeah... See-ya Hillery... Sure hope Obama is not so dumb as to choose her as a running mate.. He ought to remember Vince Foster's fate.

Cat stories...

Alex in his window...

Alex in his window...

The Rat Cat Story - by Janel

Rat cat came to us in a strange way. I was looking out at the greening of sping taking place when I heard a strange sound under the shrubs. I walked around to the front of the bushes and there underneath was what looked like an injured rat or squirrel. Upon further investigation it turned out to be a 5 month old kitten with an abscess so large that he looked like Quasimodo. He was so sick that he allowed me to pick him up and wrap him in a towel. I immediately took him to the vet where he stayed for a couple of days. Apparently he was bit by either another cat or rodent - therefore his name is rat cat. He has been a member of our family for 9 years. He is really a character and very loyal to me. He actually sleeps on my pillow every night and is very aware of any little hurts that we may have. He lays his body on the injured place and seems to think he is healing you. he is a joy and tribulation all in one.

Alexander...

Alexander...

Alexander's History.... Gary

Alexander came into this world, as do many kitties - homeless, very small and not so sure to survive. Cowering in a small and cold steel cage in a bleak shelter, he pulled at my heart strings and I happily added him to my life. He started out tiny, so I thought he needed a big name, thus Alexander the Great. He has since grown to meet his name. He is a big lug but very sweet and affectionate. He can meow up a storm when he wants his chow, which is so often he's on a diet now.

He is an American Short hair tabby cat who has many cute tricks....

He rubs noses and taps on my shoulder when he wants my attention and at meal times'

One cute gesture he taught himself was giving a high five. That was his first trick and it still cracks me up after 10 years.

At night he waits for me to pull back the covers and say, "let's settle in", and thats just what he does. He snuggles into his spot by my side and there he sleeps comfy and cozy all night.

He is a great cat, that Alexander... Whoops.. have to go, Alex is calling me for chow. Time to go , dont want to keep the big guy waiting.
